Here's what i did today,
8am wake up call (very early for me)
9am picked up sisters boyfriend's new golden retriever puppy to take care of it while they move into town from Pittsburgh. This mostly consisted of bringing the pup back to my place to allow it to alternatively terrorize my cats/try to chew something generally unchewable/nap on my bed. Oh, and getting the pup a gentle leader, cause those things are fantastic.
1pm drop off puppy (who is absolutely adorable despite my sister's opinion that he is a smelly vile creature)
2pm leave plymouth after having lunch with sister and boyfriend at P.F. Chang's
4pm go over to audition on cello for folk rock studio gig. get gig. and possibility of even greater pay if i end up playing their violin parts too.
5pm head home, crash on couch. realize i don't have time to crash on couch, clean out old car instead.
7pm go into work for extremely useless work meeting
9pm sell old car (got pretty 1999 dark red Jetta couple weeks back, has only 35000 miles, nicknamed "The Gay Communist" cause it's gay. and red.)
10pm sell old ibook g4 (got pretty 15inch g4 powerbook a little while back when the apple store had mega end of quarter sale)
11pm crash on couch. realize that this has been one of my busiest days in recent memory.
this is really the first day that I've been able to get things done since I had to put Mackie down. Which might be news to some people who are reading this (does anyone still have me friended at this point?) My pup developed soft tissue cancer in her right rear leg a couple month's back. Normally the vet would amputate the leg, but her rear hips were in such bad shape (dysplasia, arthritis, etc) that surgery wasn't an option. So instead i just waited until she let me know that it was time, which ended up being July 10th, at 8am. she woke me up, crying and whimpering. I was devastated. So that's why today was a big day, i finally got shit done.

bryiarrose and I are sitting on the patio at the contented cow.
When helping move assorted large heavy things into bryiarrose's new place i saw a little fold-over pin on the floor, front side down. It immediately reminded me of a walker art center pin that we give out to patrons. I do believe my exact quote was "if that's a walker pin I'll have to shoot myself". Two seconds later, i turn it around, and yup, walker pin it is. Damn you amojojo damn you!
Also, i needed food earlier, and went to Hogan Brothers cause it had been far too long. As I walk up to the door, I see a sign that says "Hogan Brothers is closed because we have run out of bread". This was at 9pm! so, not quite sure what to do, i did the first thing that came to mind and walked over to Chapati, and got the Chicken Makhani. Then over to the cow to sip Boddingtons and eat the yummy yummy food. Chapati is almost as good as the new indian place on 14th and Nicollet in Mpls. In other words, it's a crime that Archer is trying to take them away.
Lastly, big outing scheduled for State Fair Sunday afternoonish, all are invited!
p.s. I'm buffy season 3

minervacat posted about this earlier, and it made me realize how different I am from the norm when it comes to what I put in my body.
during the course of my life:
total number of liters of pop consumed in my life - maybe 5 total number of cigarettes smoked - 0 total number of cups of coffee per year - about 3 total number of liters of water consumed - umm...maybe 30 thousand?
I'm not the healthiest person in terms of what i eat (usually high calorie, high fat - but almost never any fast food or food chain), but it's nice not to have headaches more than a couple times a year, or not be able to fall asleep.

Again, not with the posting. Partially, that's because I felt like everything was such routine this summer. I woke up, i went to class, i got home, i worked, i went to bed, repeat repeat repeat.
What a week this has been! Two beginnings. One I wanted and one I didn't even know yet to want.
The long talked about bryiarrose, Trav, and me trio began on Friday, and continued yesterday. I am in awe of what those two are capable of, and even more so in the musical potential that is bursting through the seams when we play together. This group is already an addiction.
Another beginning - one that makes me want to jump and sing and shout at the top of my lungs in pure joy.
I don't know why I was so lucky to have The Powers That Be smiling on me this week when they gave such horrible crap to so many of my friends and family. Whatever the reasoning was, I'll take it.

sorry about the general lack of posting - I read better than the average bear though!
I met a girl named Kindra last night - a 5'5" buff blonde.
What's the first thought that runs through my head?
"I am kinDRA, the vamPIRE slayer"
I have officially sold my soul to Joss Whedon.

Have taken the GRE. Despite the monitor flicking out on me at one point, and nearly peeing my pants during the verbal test, have scored well enough to likely get myself into Vet school!

Have found myself having asked Cute Bio Girl over to study for our Bio final this week. Also slid in invite to Blue Man Group concert next week. She back to me saying she wants to study, and will have to check on the show. Invited her to Chili Peppers show couple weeks ago - see posts below - (because of extreme late notice of invite, she couldn't go cause she wasn't able to get off work)
Questions: 1) Is she just using me for my mind? (not that I'd have any real problem with that.)
2) Is there a statue of limitations on number of times I can ask her out before I either decide that a) she's not interested or b) if she is really interested she should ask me to do something? Am thinking that if she says no for whatever reason to Blue Man Group (would you turn down 5th row tix?) and doesn't suggest any kind of alternative date, I'll just chalk this one up to not so much interested.
In other news, I want to figure out a way to record some cello playing of mine. The idea is that i want a four-part piece, all parts played by me. It's a short and sweet song. Was thinking that I could play into a microphone on my computer, listen through headphones to make sure it all fits rhythmically together and mix it through a digital video editor I have. Anybody done anything like this?
Confidential to minervacat- yes this is for you :) darla/cordy MUST be reciprocated somehow!

Ah, fun show last night. Sorta like Chili Peppers greatest hits. Personal faves of the night were Around the World and Other Side, but no surprises there. Worst song of the night was a cover of "Steal Your Fire" which they used to close the show.
Actually the worst song of the night was anything from the opening band (Queens of the Stone Age, I think). Think random repeating heavy chords with little direction. Also they unintentionally made me laugh at them repeatedly as the lead singer deemed it necessary to introduce every song. "This song is about Fucking" "This song is about the sky" etc, etc. Hilarious.
Two disturbing images from the night. 1) a six year old boy accompanied to the show by his 10 and 13 year old brothers, and 2) a bursting from the seams pregnant mother. I don't know about you, but if I was pregnant (and isn't that a thought!) I wouldn't for the life of me expose my soon to be newborn to 140 decibels for 3 hours.
But back to the Chili Peppers, I was quite surprised by how much I enjoyed the show, and even how many songs they played that I recognized/knew the majority of the words to. I guess that's what I get for watching MTV too much the last few years.
Ex-girlfriend leaves for Australia for the next 3 years on Monday. Am going to see her on Saturday. Making beer bet with myself as to whether I can get through being with her for multiple hours without a) getting slapped or b) having to end "date" early. I'll give 4:1 odds on me getting slapped and 2:1 on preemptive date borofish removal. should be an interesting few hours at least...
p.s. am taking GRE this summer, can anybody clue me in as to what "recumbent" means?
